Quiltmaking is intrinsic to the history of American Crafts. Many of us grew up with memories of quilting in our families. For some, the memory
is of function and purpose. For others, the memory is the creation of something beautiful. For all of us it is a rich heritage of folk art, tradition,
and self-expression, especially for women of all eras.
No longer will you be baffled by drafting and designing. You will revel in the joy of creating, designing. You will find the freedom to just
do as you wish and create beautiful quilts. If you like to create sampler quilts, patchwork quilts, or charm quilts – this is the definitely the
reference resource for you!
The abundance of materials available to the quilter makes it a cumbersome and time consuming task to find the block or pattern you are looking
for. Drafting is especially difficult for some. Let the Universal Geometry help you with all your traditional pattern designs. No longer will
you labor in cutting the thousands of pieces you need. Your only concern will be where to start! As a Patchwork Pioneer and in
no time at all you will be creating beautiful Patchwork Puzzles.
This pattern concept was created in order to simplify the process of compiling and drafting quilt patterns. All of the selections in the book
have been patched personally by me, so I can guarantee that the pattern works. I haven’t identified exactly how many different patterns that
can be created with my system, but I have found about 500 different traditional blocks, so far, that will work with these nine easy pieces. I can’t wait to find more…My ultimate goal is to create an encyclopedia of the various block designs
possible. If you have any history or other information about any of the patterns included in the book, I would gladly include it in my next edition
with an appropriate credit.
